Designing for Clients, Communities, and Ourselves

Students in the Integrated Media Arts program have the opportunities to work with community clients as well as formulate, develop, and pursue their passion projects. We take pride in the holistic approach of becoming the best designers through in-class instruction in conjunction with external clients. In the Fall of 2020, our Integrated Media Arts Practicum 298/398 students worked with the following community clients: The East Broadtop Railroad, the All in Voting Campaign, Light of Light Yoga, Juniata College’s Esports Program, Northern Map Turtle conservation efforts, and Huntingdon Health and Wellness. Each student worked in a group or groups to successfully meet goals and deadlines provided by the client. This experience allowed students to gain collaborative work ethics as well as interpersonal skills with clients. To conclude the semester, the groups created a case study to encompass their design process as well as final deliverables. Each group presented their case study and shared their experience throughout the project. The presentation is located below.

The Liberal Arts Symposium is one of Juniata’s most cherished academic traditions.
