POE: Multimedia Production and Business

I started out at Juniata College as a full time studio art student. After talking an introductory course in the IMA program, I learned many design tools that I then used to complete future creative design projects. This inspired my decision to create a POE in IMA.

POE: Multimedia Production w/ Secondary Emphases in Communication + English

I think the IMA program, and Juniata as a whole, has given me the chances I need to explore different avenues of media. My individualized POE, Multimedia Production, allows me to take my various interests – music, art, video – and blend them together in a program that summarizes my college experience. The IMA program recognizes that there are many interests that intersect and the freedom it allows is directly in line with what I think a liberal arts education should be.

POE: Multimedia Journalism

I came to Juniata not exactly sure of what I wanted to do, I just had a passion for social media, theater and storytelling. The IMA department found me and allowed me to realize that I could transfer my love for sharing stories in a digital, creative format. By being exposed to so much through my IMA classes, I found my passion for TV journalism. Despite not having a journalism program, my POE has set me up to be a self sufficient TV reporter right out of college. I feel confident filming, editing and talking in front of a camera every day through my role at WNEP-TV because I got so much video experience at Juniata.

POE: Multimedia Communication Design

I have always had a passion for art and design but I never considered it to be in my career path. However, the IMA Program at Juniata College inspired me to go for what I love and enjoy doing. This program helped me to find my creative self and explore the world of creativity even more. Even as an international student from Nepal I felt right at home here at Juniata.

POE:  Pre K-4 Education with a Secondary Emphasis in Integrated Media Arts

I chose to come to Juniata for its small, close-knit environment that allows relationships to easily be built among students and staff. I also was drawn to the diversity in POEs. I initially came to Juniata as an Undecided/Exploratory student with not much of an idea of where I wanted to go. I spent my first year taking math courses because math has always been a subject I enjoyed. Freshman year is also when I took Principles of Digital Media and enjoyed what the course had to offer. But, teaching was always in the back of my mind as a possibility.

POE: Design and Visual Storytelling

I came to Juniata to study in the IMA program because of the real-world experiences that I would gain working with community partners, informing me of how I would work with clients in the future. So far, I have been challenged artistically and I have gained leadership skills, but also collaborative skills. The IMA department also allowed me to explore and experiment in my creative work and I have been able to learn more about my artistic style and vision.

POE: Digital Media Storytelling with Human Behavior

I came to Juniata for the multidisciplinary approach to learning in the Integrated Media Arts department. The IMA program gave me the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of individuals with who I would, later on, be able to collaborate, as well as teach me how to use a diverse range of programs and equipment that I never had the experience of using before. As a freshman, the IMA program seemed like the program that would strengthen my professional and creative skills. I wanted to be part of a community where I could also learn from other creative individuals.
