POE: Integrated Media Arts
I have been passionate about art my whole life, and I love how IMA strengthens and expands my artistic skill set. I have been able to create so many meaningful projects in my time here, which has been an amazing experience for me.
I have always been passionate about art, and IMA has pushed me past my background in studio art and into both digital skills and marketing skills. My graphic design skill set has been greatly improved on and expanded since being here, and I have my own professional branding with a complete understanding of the marketing that goes along with it.
While at Juniata, I have had the opportunity to work with multiple clients. Notably, I worked on the “An IMA Story” book for the IMA program. In addition, I have completed commissioned drawings for the college that are on public display. I am currently completing a capstone that consists of six large drawings that are accompanied by research and social media work.
Working with a legitimate client was one of the most important experiences I have had here at Juniata. It showed me what it takes to work as a team to complete a long-term task. It also showed me just how much goes into freelance work.Once I graduate, I plan on pursuing my career as a freelance artist, and Juniata and the IMA program have given me all of the knowledge to pursue that for myself.
