POE: Marketing with secondary emphases in IMA and Fine Arts
I love the practical application of the arts in life and being able to create beauty with everyday materials. I love the idea of using my artistic skills and keeping track of how to make use of them too!
“Don't let anyone make you disappear."
I chose to study Marketing with a secondary in IMA and Fine Arts because I love the idea of honing my graphic design and artistic skills together while creating beauty in everyday materials. I love the whole IMA program, especially how it highlights and helps to focus individual students, their skills, and their projects, as well as entire team projects, because each student plays their own role.
Since I have been at Juniata, I have taken several IMA classes, added it as my secondary emphasis, and worked as an IMA Teacher’s Assistant and Juniata Associate. I believe working with real community partners has done wonders in teaching me how to meet and deal with potential clients. I have worked independently before to make commissioned artwork, so in combination with my new skills, I feel that I have a really good grasp on effective communication with clients. My ideal career path right now would be working in public relations or digital marketing. I think this is the perfect combination of my skills, and I feel like I have the potential to thrive.
